| Database | Is an online collection of magazine articles, professional journal articles, and newspaper articles organized so that they can be located by library users. |
| Periodicals | Published on a regular basis - daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. Some examples are newspapers, scholarly journals, and magazines. |
| Citation | Contains information to be used for citing materials and includes author, title of the article, title of the publication, date of publication, and the database for which the article was retrieved. |
| Abstract | A summary of the book or article. The abstract gives you an overview of the article, making it easier to see if it is an article that you need. |
| Full-text | The entire article is available. |
| Library Catalog | Contains records for the books, audiobooks, and DVDs for Matheson Library and for all the other KCTCS libraries. It also contains records for eBooks. |
| Library of Congress Classification System | Organizes the library's materials according to their subject matter and assigns a call number to each item. |
| Call Number | The address or location of the item on the shelf. |
| Renewal | Extending the check-out period of your item by visiting the circulation desk, website, or by phone. |
| Stacks | Shelves where books are located. |
