There are only ir verbs in the Crazy Three Code.
Any verb that has a stem change in the present tense AND ends in ir, will be a Crazy Three in the preterite. It is called a crazy three because a stem change occurrs in the third person only.

I lied	mentí
he, she, Ud. or it lied	mintió
they lied	mintieron
divertirse means:	to enjoy yourself (present tense = e to ie, preterite = e to i
you (tú) enjoyed yourself	te divertiste
they enjoyed themselves	se divirtieron
We enjoyed ourselves	nos divertimos
despertarse	to wake up (present tense = e to ie, preterite = NO STEM CHANGE. WHY? BECAUSE IT DOES NOT END IN IR.
she woke up	se despertó (note that there is no stem change, It is not a crazy three.
