Point of orderA motion raised during consideration of a motion concerning the rules of parliamentary procedure.
Question of privilegeA motion that permits a request related to the rights and privileges of the assembly. Examples may include matters of comfort, amplification, or safety.
Division of the assemblyA voting method in which the members of the assembly take a rising vote (stand up) or go to different parts of the chamber, literally dividing into groups indicating a vote in favour of or in opposition to a motion on the floor.
Refer to a committeTo give a motion more detailed attention or permit it to be handled in privacy by a committe.
Previous questionA motion to end debate, and the moving of amendments, on any debatable or amendable motion and bring that motion to an immediate vote.
