| File Tab | displays the Backstage view, which you use to create, open, save, print and manage files. |
| Quick Access Toolbar | Used to gain quick access to frequently used commands. |
| Title Bar | Look at the title bar to see what files or programs are currently displayed in the window. |
| Ribbon | Use these tabs to access the commands you need to complete a task. |
| Status Bar | used to find information about the document currently displayed. |
| View Buttons | Use these buttons to quickly change between different document views, such as Print Layout, Full Screen Reading, or Web Layout. |
| Zoom Slider | Click the buttons at either side to increase or decrease the percentage of the document currently on screen. |
| View Ruler | Used to help you set or modify tabs, indents, and margins. |
| Insertion Point | This is where the cursor is currently located in a document which is displayed as a flashing vertical line. |
| Copy | Make a duplicate or copy of a selected item. |
| Drag and Drop | Move a selected item from its current location to a new location using the mouse. |
| Paste | Paste a copied or cut item into a new location. |
| Redo | Repeat or redo the last action that was reversed. |
| Select | Highlight items using a variety of different methods in order to perform an action on the selection. |
| Spell Check | Check the spelling in the file. |
| Undo | Reverse or undo the last action performed. |
| Minimize | closes the program temporarily to the Windows taskbar. |
| Restore Down | reduces the screen to the size it was before it was maximized. |
| Maximize | fills the entire screen with the application window. |
| Close | exit the program. |
