| narrative | text that explains the series of events |
| conflict | the struggle that takes place in a story |
| internal conflict | struggle that occurs within the character |
| external conflict | conflict that occurs outside the character |
| exposition | intro to the story that includes an introduction of characters and setting |
| rising action | the main details of the story that lead up to the climax |
| climax | point of highest interest in the story |
| falling action | events that occur after the climax, leading us to the resolution |
| resolution | the ending of a story, all conflicts have been solved |
