The following games will help you to review the cell and its parts.
|
| A | B |
prokaryote, | simple cell with no organelles |
eukaryote, | complex cell with organelles |
cell membrane, | controls what goes in & out of a cell |
cytoplasm, | fluid inside the cell |
nucleus, | controls the functions of the cell through DNA |
mitochondria, | generates energy (by breaking down sugars) for the cell to do work |
endoplasmic reticulum, | transports proteins |
Golgi apparatus, | packages and ships proteins |
ribosomes, | make proteins |
nucleolus, | makes ribosomes |
cytoskeleton, | provides structure and support for the cell |
lysosome, | digests wastes & damaged cell parts |
vacuole, | stores materials for the cell |
chloroplast, | found in plant cells; captures and converts energy from sunlight |
cell wall, | found in prokaryotes and plant cells; provides support |
centrioles, | found in animal cells; used during cell division |
flagella, | used for movement; long & whip-like |
cilia, | used for movement; many short hairs |
| Why are cells so small? | more efficient; better surface area to volume ratio |
