| Values | When a cell contains a formula the resulting number shown on the screen is called a value. |
| Workbook | The basic Microsoft Excel document, consisting of one or more worksheets. |
| Worksheet | A page in a Microsoft Excel workbook. |
| Alignment | The way in which the contents of a cell are arranged (e.g. left, right, centered) |
| Freeze | To fix cells that will remain at the top of a worksheet regardless of how far down the worksheet a user scrolls. |
| Sheet Tab | The indicator for a worksheet, located in the lower left corner of the workbook window. |
| Fill Color | The background color that appears behind data in a cell. |
| Insert Function | A pre-programmed formula or routine that is built into Microsoft Excel. |
