| Balance | This is the ability to maintain a control of the body. Balance can be static such as holding a handstand or dynamic on the move such as dribbling. |
| timing | This is the ability to judge when to and apply an action at the right moment. For example timing when to swing your arm/leg will allow you to make good contact with ball/shuttle. |
| coordination | This is the ability to move your body parts in a controlled and synchronised manner in response to what your senses tell you. |
| reaction time | This is the time it takes you to react to a stimulus. For example the time it takes you to react to your opponents drop shot. |
| agility | This is the ability to change direction or body position quickly and in control. |
| determination | the ability to keep working towards a goal until successful (not giving up). |
| concentration | the ability to give all your attention to a task/stay mentally focused. It is also called focus. |
| enthusiasm | the ability to tackle tasks with high amounts of effort and enjoyment. |
| imagination | the ability to solve problems in a different/unique/original way. Also the ability to come up with solutions to unusual problems |
| disciplined | the ability to follow instructions and perform your role exactly how you are expected. |
| motivation | is your desire to do well and succeed |
| mental rehearsal | the ability to visualise a task and systematically go through it/practice it mentally (in your head) prior to performing it |
| level of arousal | the ability to get your body to an appropriate state of readiness for an activity. |
| anxiety | sometime called stress management. This is the ability to control physiological and emotional factors such as heart rate, breathing, |

| resilience | viewed higher form of determination it is the ability to overcome and/or recover quickly from adversity (difficulties) and not giving up. |
| confidence | the feeling and belief in your own ability that you can achieve your targets/goals. |

| co-operation | the ability to work with a partner/team towards a common goal. |
