A | B |
absolute value | the distance the number is from 0 on the number line |
distributive property | when a single-term expression is being multiplied by a sum or difference, the single-term expression can be multiplied by each term before finding the sum or difference. |
additive inverse | an expression can be added to a given expression so that their sum is 0. |

algebraic expression | a mathmatical expression that contains 1 or more variables |
box-and-whisker plot | a rectangle (the box) is used to represent the dispersion of points between the first and third quartiles, and line segments (the whiskers) are used to represent the dispersion of points between the minimum value and the first quartile and between the maximum value and the first quartile. A line segment drawn within the box represents the medium value. |
combination | a unique set or group of objects, symbols, numbers, etc. only the contents of the set, not the order or arrangement, determine a combination. |

least common multiple (LCM) | the least whole number that is a common mutiple of 2 or more numbers. |
magnitude | A scalar (no units assigned) associated with a quantity |
maximum | the greatest number in a set of data. |
mean | a number found by dividing the sum of a set of numbers by the number of addendes |
mean absolute deviation | the average of differences between each data point in a data set and the mean. |
