The following games will help you to review the cell and its parts.
|
| A | B |
prokaryote, | simple cell with no organelles ex Bacteria |
eukaryote, | complex cell with organelles ex Plants & Animals |
cell membrane, | controls what goes in & out of a cell |
cytoplasm, | fluid inside the cell |
nucleus, | controls all the functions of the cell; contains DNA |
mitochondria, | makes cell energy (POWER HOUSE) (breaks down sugars) |
Rough endoplasmic reticulum, | Has Ribosomes on it; Makes proteins |
Golgi apparatus (body), | packages and ships proteins |
Ribosomes, | make proteins |
Nucleolus, | makes ribosomes |
Cytoskeleton, | provides structure and support for the cell |
Lysosome, | digests wastes & damaged cell parts |
Vacuole, | stores materials (food or waste) for the cell |
Chloroplast, | found in plant cells; captures and converts light energy to sugars |
Cell Wall, | Provides Support; found in prokaryotes and plant cells; provides support |
Centrioles, | used during cell division; found in animal cells; |
Flagella, | used for movement; long & whip-like |
Cilia, | used for movement; many short hairs |
| Why are cells so small? | more efficient; better surface area to volume ratio |
