Creating a Business Letter with a Letterhead and Table

LetterheadThe section of a letter, generally at the top, of a letter that identifies an organization or individual and contains the mailing address, phone number, email address, website address and sometimes a logo or other image representing the company
Drawing ObjectA graphic that you create using Word, which has a variety of predefined shapes such as a rectangle, circle, etc.
Inline ObjectAn object that is part of a paragraph that you can change the location of the object by setting paragraph options such as centered, right-aligned, and so on
Floating ObjectAn object that can be positioned with more flexibility at a specific location in a document or in a layer over or behind text in a document

Date LineThe section of a business letter which consists of the month, day, and year positioned two to six lines below the letterhead
Inside AddressThe section of a business letter which contains the addressee's courtesy title plus full name, job title, business affiliation, and full geographical address and is placed three to eight lines below the date line
SalutationThe section of a business letter that serves as an expression of greeting to the recipient of a letter such as "Dear Mr. Smith:" and begins two lines below the last line of the inside address
MessageThe section of a business letter that serves as the body or subject of the letter and begins two lines below the salutation
Complimentary CloseThe section of a business letter that expresses a sender's regards such as Sincerely yours and is located two lines below the last line of the message of the letter
Signature BlockThe section of a business letter that contains the typed name and title of the sender and is located at least four blank lines below the complimentary close
Tab StopA location on the horizontal ruler that tells Word where to position the insertion point and stop when you press the TAB Key on the keyboard
Tab Character (or marker)A formatting mark or character that appears in the empty space tetween the tab stops when you press the TAB key
Building Blockdocument elements (frequently used text or graphics) saved into the Office program for use in future documents
Nonbreaking SpaceA special space character that prevents two words from splitting if the first word falls at the end of a line such as proper nouns, dates, units of time, abbreviations, etc.
Nonbreaking HyphenA special type of hyphen that prevents two words separated by a hyphen from splitting at the end of a line
TableA collection of rows and columns used to display data or information
CellThe intersection of a row and column in a table
DimensionThe total number of rows and columns specified to create a table
