| Brightness | A dimension of color that refers to the amount of lightness or darkness of the color, usually measured from 0% (black) to 100% (white). |

| Design View | A view mode in Dreamweaver CC which illustrates the design of a website. |
| Disable Styles | A feature found in most browsers which turns off the CSS linked to the page. |
| Div | An element used in conjunction with CSS and HTML web documents which adds structure to documents by designating specified areas for different actions or formats. |
| Editable Region | An area that has been designated as editable in a Dreamweaver template file and therefore will be editable in any document based on the template. |
| External Link | A form of hyperlink that directs a user to a separate website on the Internet. The website is usually on another domain that is separate from the current website. |
| External Style Sheet | A CSS style sheet which is created outside of the HTML document and then linked to the website for global updates. |
| Fair Use | A copyright concept which implies parts of copyrighted works can be used without permission provided the use is reasonable and does not adversely affect the profit that may be expected by the copyright owner. |
| File Check-Out and Check-In | A feature which assists in a collaborative environment to manage files. This option allows only one person to work on a file at a time in order to prevent overwriting of multiple changes. |
| Files Panel | A panel in Dreamweaver CC used to organize files for web design. |
| Fluid Grid Layout | A webpage layout that allows a website to be responsive. A webpage that is responsive will adjust to various widths found on different technologies such as tablets and mobile devices. |

| Hyperlink | An item on a website that is highlighted in a way that sets it apart from the website. It connects the user to another document from the current document. It can be a word, phrase, or image. |
| ID Selector | A tool which redefines the look of a specific HTML tag. |
| Image Map | An image that has various interactive elements. This allows web designers to define portions of an image to connect users to other documents using hyperlinks. |
| Inheritance | A principle in CSS that means any elements without any predefined styles attached to them will take on the style of the parent elements. |
| Intellectual Property | An idea, process, or physical creation that comes from the work of the mind. |
| Internal Link | A type of hyperlink that connects the user to a document in the current domain. |
| Internal Style Sheet | A CSS style sheet which is created within Adobe Dreamweaver, usually for a single page. |
| JPEG | Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) is a compression algorithm for condensing the size of image files by subdividing and simplifying complex images. JPEG images are commonly used for photograph-quality images over the Internet. |
| JavaScript | An object-based scripting language which works in conjunction with HTML in order to provide interactivity to webpages. |
| Library Items | A collection of user-defined actions which may be applied to elements within a Dreamweaver CC document in order to preserve consistency and reduce time spent formatting individual elements. |
