| title page | uses graphics to introduce the theme - includes our student population |
| division spreads | a spread used to separate each of the sections such as People or Student Life |
| endsheets | heavier sheets of paper which hold the pages of the yearbook together to the cover. |
| spread | two facing pages that meet in the gutter |
| signature | 16 pages |
| deadlines | we have three of these and this is a due date when we must get pages to Jostens |
| folio | refers to the page number and is often an icon that follows the theme |
| four color | printing in CMYK - cyan, magenta, yellow, and black |
| graphics | elements that add to a spread, usually font design + art work |
| headline | the largest type used to gain the reader's attention on a spread |
| ladder | guide or roadmap so we know who is working on what spreads and when they are due |
| spine | part of the cover that usually contains the volume of the book and holds the front and back together |
| serif fonts | these have tails |
| sans serif fonts | these have no tails |
| theme | a verbal statement and visual graphics that tie the yearbook spreads together |
| colophon | copy that tells who's who in the yearbook and how the theme was developed and the yearbook was created |
