bookmarkAn invisible pointer that you insert in a document.
building blocksBuilt-in reusable content such as text, graphics, and objects that can be easily managed and inserted in a document for a quick format.
cross-referenceA reference to some other spot in the document. It can be a bookmark (like the one you created in the preceding exercise), or a numbered item, heading, bookmark, footnote, endnote, equation, figure, or table.
Digital signatureA code digitally signed by a company or person.
fieldA placeholder where Word inserts content in a document. Word automatically uses fields when specific commands are activated, such as those for inserting dates, page numbers, and a table of contents.
field codesAnother name for field. Appear between curly brackets ({ }) when displayed.
hackerA person who writes vicious macros with viruses.
macroA series of command to automate a task.
