| Deposit in transit | A deposit that has been made but does not appear on the bank statement. |
| Interest | Money that banks pay for the use of depositor's money. |
| Regular savings account | A bank account that earns interest at a set rate. |
| Certificate of Deposit | Pays higher interest than a regular savings account but requires a minimum deposit. Further the money cannot be withdrawn for a certain length of time. |
| FDIC | Insures depositors accounts up to $100,000. |
