OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act | Created in 1987, includes many regulations regarding long-term health care, including the Residents Bill of Rights. |
Patients Bill of RIghts | is rights that are honored by many health care providers |
Power of Attorney (POA) | is for health care, a document that allows a person, a principal, to give another person, an agent, the right to make decisions regarding the principals health care if the principal is unable to make decisions or communicate because of a severe illness or injury. |
Privileged Communication | is information that is shared within a protected relationship, such as that between a physician and patient, attorney and client, and clergy and counselee |
