| Misregistration | happens if the paper or the printing plates become misaligned during printing. |
| Trapping | used to compensate for any gaps or color shifts that may occur between adjoining or overlapping objects when printing, |
| Screens | tints of the two solid colors in the artwork |
| Proofs | a set of separations printed on a black and white printer to check for any needed corrections |
| Color Separation | process of breaking composite artwork into its component colors |
| Bleed | the area of artwork that falls outside the crop marks, and which will be removed when the printed artwork is trimmed |
| Crop Marks | the pairs of lines at each corner of the artwork which define where the artwork is trimmed after it is printed |
| Gamut | range of colors that can be displayed or printed |
