Forces | This thing that we study in science is an effect on something; interactions between two object involves this; can be a push or pull, or an attraction or repulsion... |

Copernicus | Was persecuted and had to hide for simply proving that the Sun (Heliocentric) rather than the Earth (Geocentric) is at the center of our solar system? |

The Four Fundamental Forces | Forces that formed after the Big Bang, and the universe started to cool. (Gravity, Electromagnetic, Strong, Weak). |
First Two Elements (Atoms) | Once the universe cooled down enough, and after the 4 forces formed... H and He formed. |
Heliocentric Model | A model of the solar system that correctly places the Sun in the center. |
Geocentric Model | An older and disproven model of the solar system that claimed Earth was the Center of the solar system (and even the universe). |

Atoms | The basic unit of matter in the universe; the smallest portion of any element from the periodic table. (comes from the greek "no cut" as they guessed it was the smallest piece one could cut matter into.) |
Cool down | What the universe had to do after the big bang, allowing forces to act and atoms to form. |
Periodic Table | A chart organizing all of the known elements by their properties and how many protons are in one atom of that element. |
Electron | A subatomic (smaller than an atom) particle having a negative charge and only a tiny bit of mass, found in orbits or clouds outside the central nucleus of an atom. The number of these determines the charge of any given atom, as either a neutral atom or a positive or negative ion. |
Proton | A subatomic (smaller than an atom) particle having a positive charge and 1 AMU of mass, found in the central nucleus of an atom. The number of these determines what kind of element an atom is. |
Neutron | A subatomic (smaller than an atom) particle having NO charge (aka neutral) and 1 AMU of mass, found in the central nucleus of an atom. The number of these affects the mass of atoms, like extra stuffing. Some atoms have many more or less of these than the average, and are known as isotopes. |
Nucleus | The center part or region, in this case looking at the center of an atom, and containing only protons and neutrons. |
Orbitals, Levels, or Clouds | Three different ways of looking at and describing the place where electrons exist outside of the nucleus in an atom. |
Subatomic Particle | A fancy way of saying anything smaller than an atom, like protons, neutrons, or electrons. Like a submarine goes under the water, these are things under the size of an atom. |
Universe | There is only one that we know of for sure. Everything we know about is IN the known... |
Galaxy | A group of millions or billions of stars. The one we live in is called the Milky Way. there are billions of these. |
Solar System | A group of planets going around a star, like we go around the sun. |
