| Dred Scott Case | Missouri slave whose slaveowner took him to a free state for four years. Upon his return, Dred felt he should no longer be enlsaved. The case went to the Supreme Court in 1857. Said he was property, no matter where his owner moved and that the Missouri Compromise was against the law (each state should decide, not Congress) |
