Square | A special type of rectangle with four equal sides and four 90-degree angles. (2) Exactly adjusted; any piece of material sawed or cut to be rectangular with equal dimensions on all sides; a tool used to check angles. (3) The product of a number multiplied by itself. For example, 25 is the square of 5; 16 is the square of 4. |
Strip | To damage the threads on a nut or bolt. |
Tang | Metal handle-end of a file. The tang fits into a wooden or plastic file handle. |
Torque | The turning or twisting force applied to an object, such as a nut, bolt, or screw, using a socket wrench or screwdriver to tighten it. Torque is measured in inch-pounds or foot-pounds. |
Vise | A holding or gripping tool, fixed or portable, used to secure an object while work is performed on it. |
