| Church as Mystical Body | A Model of Church in which members get to know Jesus and each other on a personal level and emphasize fellowship. |
| Church as Sacrament | A Model of Church with emphasis on the rituals and symbols of liturgical life to be transformed by grace. |
| Church as Servant | A Model of Church exemplified in groups like Catholic Charities, hospitals, St. Vincent de Paul Society, etc. taking action to do the Corporal Works of Mercy. |
| Scriptural Image: People of God | God invites all people to have faith in him, be baptized, and become one family. |
| Scriptural Image: Body of Christ | Reveals the close relationship between Christ (the Head) and believers as well as the intimate relationship among believers themselves. |
| Scriptural Image: Temple of the Holy Spirit | Emphasizes that the Church is a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit who lives in us and we must treat ourselves and each other with dignity and reverence. |
