| standard toolbar | contains buttons used to execute frequently used commands that are also available on the File and Edit menus. |
| live view | displays an open document as if you were viewing it in a browser |
| property inspector | located at the bottom of the Dreamweaver window, lets you view and change the properties of a selected object |
| staus bar | located below the Document window that displays information such as the file size, tag selector, and widow size |
| banner | images that usually appear at the top of the screen that can contain a company's logo, contact information, etc. |
| menu bars | also called navigation bars, usually contain multiple links organized into rows or columns |
| local site folder | also called the root folder, where all the files for the website are located |
| assets or images folder | folder containing all the files needed for the website which are NOT pages, including images, sound files |
| publishing (a website) | refers to the process of transferring all the files for the site to a web server |
| web server | a computer that is connected to the Internet with an IP address so that it is available for viewing on the Internet |
| FTP (File Transfer Protocol) | the process of uploading and downloading files to and from a remote site |
| IP Address | an assigned series of numbers, separated by periods, that designates an address on the Internet |
| domain name | a web address that is expressed by letters instead of numbers and usually reflects the name of the business or organization represented by the website |
| URL (Uniform Resource Locator) | contained in the address bar of the browser, determines a route on the Internet or to a web page |
| Insert panel | includes eight categories of buttons for creating and inserting objects displayed as a drop-down menu: Common, Layout, Forms, Data, Spry, InContext Editing, Text and Favorites. |
| Local site | The location of your local site root folder where your website files are stored while being developed |
| Editable region | an area in a template where users of the template can add or change content |
| wireframe | a prototype that represents every page and its contents in a website, simar to a flowchart or a storyboard, showing the relationshp to each page in the site to all the other pages. |
