| Lava | Molten rock that reaches the Earth's surface through a volcano. |
| Magma | Molten rock beneath the Earth's surface. |
| Folded Mountain | A mountain that forms as continental crust is compressed and rocks bend into large folds. |
| Fault-Block Mountain | A mountain that forms as blocks of rock move up or down along normal faults in areas where the lithosphere is being pulled apart. |
| Geyser | A type of hot spring that shoots water into the air. |
| Volcano | An opening in the crust through which molten rock, rock fragments, and hot gases erupt; a mountain built up from erupted materials. |
| Acid Rain | Rain that has become more acidic than normal due to pollution. |
| Pyroclastic Flow | A dense cloud of superheated gases and rock fragments that moves quickly downhill from an erupting volcano. |
| Crater | A bowl-shaped pit caused by a volcano. |
| Caldera | A crater that has collapsed. |
| Cinder Cone | This is the simplest type of volcano created by short eruptions mostly of pyroclastic products such as ash and cinder. |
| Shield Volcano (Hawaii's Mouna Kea) | A volcano that is formed by slow and steady eruptions in which lava spreads out over a broad area. |
| Strato-volcano (or Composite). Mount Vesuvius, for example. | This volcano is cone shaped, tall, and explosive!! It forms the way it does because it has alternating eruptions, one of lava and then one that is ash with rocks. |
| Mudflow | A muddy flow of debris that can move at high speeds down a volcano slope. |
| Pyroclastic flow | A fast-moving, extremely hot, and deadly avalanche of volcanic ash, pumice, and rock that flows down a volcano's slope. |
| Lava flow | A river or stream of molten rock that pours out of a volcano during an eruption. |
| Landslide | This is when large masses of wet, or dry, rock and soil falls, slides, or flows very rapidly because of volcanic conditions. |
| Steam Explosion | A type of steam blast triggered by a sudden pulse of heat from magma. |
| Active Volcano | A volcano that erupts regularly. |
| Deep-Sea Vents | Areas under the sea commonly found near volcanically active places that have super heated water. |
| Extinct Volcano | A volcano that is unlikely to erupt again. |
| Dormant Volcano | Hasn't erupted in recent times but CAN erupt in the future. |
| Seismologist | A guy that studies earthquakes. |
| Seismogram | The recorded results on a paper that looks like lines scratched by an ink pen as the Earth moves a little, or violently. |
| Seismograph | This is the machine that is used to detect Earth movements due to plate movement. |
