WEAVING - Stitch Definitions
Define the weaving stitches!

| A | B |
| Tabby Weave | Over one, under one |
| Basket Weave | 2 weft threads, over 2, under 2 |
| Twill | over 2, under 1 |
| Bubbling the Weft | when weaving, pull the weft in an arch. |
| Soumak | over 4, back under 2 |
| Ghiordes Knot | lay a small piece of yarn (2") across two warp threads, bend the two ends down, under, and up between the two warp threads |
| Vertical Slit | a sharp break between two sections of colors, leaving a vertical slit in the web |
| Interlocking | two weft threads meet and are interlocked to each other in-between two warp threads |
| Dovetail | two weft threads from opposite directions encircle around the same warp thread before they turn around and are woven in the opposite direction |
| Egyptian Knot | a weft thread goes under, then turns back and goes over, then under the next, forming a small circle around the warp thread (single soumak) |
| Warp | the first set of threads in place, runs vertical |
| Weft | the element that is interlaced with the warp, runs horizontal |
| Inserted Weft | Leave a space in the weft... then later, insert a separate piece of weft in that space. |
