| Electronic Mail (E-Mail) | The transmission of messages over a communications network |
| File Name | A name given to a document or other file to be stored on a disk or in memory under a single name |
| Floppy Disk | Covered by a permanent jacket and used to store information and programs |
| Folder | Groups files that have something in common and used to organize a disk |
| Formatting Toolbar | Contains buttons for changing character and paragraph formatting |
| Graphical User Interface (GUI) | The user actually interacts with the computer by means of graphics, or pictures. The desktop organizes your work and the Start button brings up menus that give you a variety of options |
| Hard Copy | Printed out on paper, film, or other permanent media |
| Hard Drive | A storage device located within the CPU. It is a rigid metal platter that allows for more data storage than a floppy disk |
| Hardware | Equipment used in a computer system (keyboard, disk drives, monitor, printer, modem, and mouse) |
