RUMBA Review

The RUMBA Review is a refresher activity for students who have taken the USA.NET "Corrective Action" class and are now ready to take "Performance Communication."

It is also an activity to support the new acquisition of this knowledge by students who are studying the material for the first time.

RelevantHelps the employee understand how the expectation fits with the company's/department's goals.
UnderstandableMakes the goal clear to the employee. May need to be restated in different language or the employee's own words
MeasurableDescribes the results for which the employee will be accountable. Usually stated in terms of quantifiable criteria.
BehavioralGoal must be stated as observable or audible.
AttainableGoal is realistic and achievable
RUMBAAcronym for goal setting steps: Relevant, Understandable, Measurable, Behavioral, Attainable
