Learning Desktop Terms for iMac
The students will define, locate and apply the following desktop terms; finder, desktop, trash, icon, hard drive, folder, window, menu bar and menu.

| finder | allows you to find and organize files and folders |
| desktop | This is where you do your work. You will see small pictures that represent the items you work with or create on your computer. |
| trash | the icon looks like a trash can. This is where you place files that you do not want. |

| hard drive | this is the main unit, the storage place for all programs and files |
| folder | place files within this to help organize them |
| window | a box that appears on your screen |
| menu bar | the line of words across the top of the screen EX: file, edit, view, |
| menu | hold your mouse on this to view the choices of commands |
