This cultural region stretched from the Pacific Coast to the Sierra Nevada mountains and into the Great Basin. Part of the region was desert, with extreme heat and cold, and little rainfall. The other part had a mild climate and rich resources like huge redwood forests and shores filled with clams and other shellfish. The Pomo lived here.California-Intermountain
Tis cultural region extended from the Atlantic Coast through the Ohio Valley to the Mississippi River. The region had four distinct seasons. Streams and rivers crisscrossed the region and wound through forests of oak, maple, and birch trees. The forests were home to animals such as deer, beavers, and turkeys.
