| mug shot | Portrait, picture of a person's head and shoulders nly | 
| natural spread | The middle 2 pages of a printer's signature, which are the nly 2 consecutive pages printed side by side (usually pages 8 and 9) | 
| overburn | Process of superimposing dark printing over areas already printed (caption printed on light portion of photo) | 
| overexpose | To give too much exposure to film or photograph | 
| overlay | Transparent paper covering a layout or photo with instructions for overburning | 
| overprinting | Printing one color of ink over another, or the same color | 
| page | One side of a leaf of a book | 
| page proof | A simulated version of a page showing copy, pictures and artwork which is used for editing purposes prior to printing |

| pica | Unit of measure in the printing industry.  One is equal of 12 points.  There are 6 of these to an inch. |
