A double bar line with 2 dots,  | Go back to the beginning, or until you see a backwards repeat sign. |
| Fermata | This means the note should be held longer than it's value. |
| Accent | It means to stress the note. |
| Coda | An ending. Sing until you see "coda", then skip to the symbol and sing to the end. |
| The Sign | Another form of repeat. Directions will be given in the score, D.S., which means go back to the sign. |
| Barline | A line that separates the measures of music |
| Crescendo | Gradually get louder. |
| Decrescendo | Gradually get softer. |
| flat | Lowers the pitch 1/2 step. |
| Sharp | Raises the pitch 1/2 step. |
| Natural | Cancels out a sharp or flat. |
| Grace note. | It embellishes a note. (looks like a tiny note.) |
| Tie | Connects to notes of the same pitch, lengthening the 1st, by the value of the second. |
| Whole note | Longest note. It gets 4 beats. |
| Half Note | A note that gets 2 beats. |
| Quarter note | A note that gets 1 beat. |
| Eighth note. | A note that gets 1/2 beat. |
| First and second ending. | Perform the first ending, then repeat when you see the repeat sign, go back and repeat. When you get to the endings, skip the 1st one, and sing the 2nd. |
