Cloud Types
These activities will help you with your review of the different types of clouds.

| Cumulus | large piles of white clouds, fair weather |
| Stratocumulus | gray layers of cumulus clouds, cover whole sky |
| Cumulonimbus | Dark towering clouds, known as thunderclouds |
| Stratus | Thick, low sheetlike clouds, sign of rainy weather |
| Nimbostratus | Sheets of gray, dark clouds, bring rain or snow |
| Altocumulus | Rounded heaps or white or grayish, may bring rain |
| Altostratus | Grayish-white sheet of clouds that make sky look watery, usually no rain |
| Cirrus | Thin, wispy white clouds made of ice crystals, sign weather will change |
| Cirrocumulus | "Mackerel Sky" Rippling rows of white fleecy clouds |
| Cirrostratus | "See-through" white clouds that may cover whole sky, very high in sky |
