Divisibility Rules
Definitions for the divisibility rules
|
| A | B |
| 2 | Any even number (any number ending in a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) Example: 234 |
| 3 | The sum of the digits is divisible by 3. For example: 231 - 2 + 3 + 1 = 6, 6 is divisible by 3 so 231 is also divisible by 3. |
| 5 | Any number ending in a 5 or 0. For example: 450 and 555 are both divisible by 5. |
| 6 | Any number that is divisible by 2 AND 3. Example: 336 is divisble by 2 (because it is even) and 3 (because 3 + 3 + 6 = 12) so it is divisble by 6. |
| 9 | The sum of the digits is divisable by 9. Example 990 - 9 + 9 + 0 = 18 which is divisble by 9. |
| 10 | Any number ending in 0. Example: 670. |
