| Disk Drive | A device on the computer used to read files from a disk. |
| Server | A computer used mainly to store files - can be used by anyone on the network with the proper password. |
| Software | Programs within the computer like AppleWorks or Netscape. |
| Hardware | The actual physical parts of the computer like the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. |
| Modem | This part of the computer lets the computer be able to read data sent through the phone lines or cables. |
| Memory | Storage within the computer. |
| File | A unit of information about the same thing. |
| Monitor | The screen part of the computer (the T.V screen part). |
| CD Drive | This part of the computer read CD-ROMS. |
| Printer | This device puts what is on your screen on paper. |
| Mouse | The small, hand held device that moves the pointer on the screen. You use it to "click". |
| Short Cuts | Using the Apple Key along with certain letters on the keyboard. |
| ISP-Internet Service Provider | A company that activates you computer to use the internet network. |
| HTTP | Hyper Text Transfer Protocol |
| Window | Lets you see the program on the screen, if you do not have this open you will not see the program even if it is running. |
| Downloading | Getting a program or plug in software from the internet to your computer. |
| Cursor | A blinking line on the screen that lets you know you can type something in. |
