| O'Brien | mysterious, powerful member of the Inner Party; has a habit of adjusting his glasses on his nose; Winston thinks this person is part of the Brotherhood; but he's a spy for the Party who tortures and breaks Winston |
| Big Brother | believed to be the ruler of Oceania; we never see him in person, does he really exist? He's watching you!! |
