Battery:Device that changes chem energy into elec energy.
Fixed Capacitor:2 conducting surfaces separated by an insulator that stores elect energy.
Conductor Connected: Wires suitable for carrying an electrical current is on.
Conductor Not Connected: Wires suitable for carrying an elect. current is off
Fuse:Device in the conductive path with a melting point coordinated to load current.
Ground:Conducting connection, which an electric circuit, the earth.
Inductor Air Coil: Wound wire creating a magnetic field which does not use iron to achieve inductance.
Fuse:Device in the conductive path with a melting point coordinated to load current.
Fusible Link:A short section of wire that melts to interrupt the circuit when current is exceeded.
Rectifier (Diode):A semiconductor device which allows current to flow through it in only one direction.
Shielded Cable:High voltage power cable enclosed in a non-magnetic conducting envelope.
Inductor Iron core:Coil of wire with a metallic or ferrite core that create a magnetic field when energized.
Lamp Incandescent:Produces light by heating filament. Higher temperatures produce more light.
Line Connection: Line to line connection used for high power appliances.
Motor Single Phase:Alternating devices needing a starting capacitor or switch .Used for small appliances.
Motor Three Phase: Device with 3 windings that runs on A.C. to magnetize the windings to turn the rotor.
Resistor Fixed:Used to reduce the flow of electric current. Value can not be changed.
Thermal Overload Coil:Device preventing an electric motor from drawing too much current and overheating.
Thermistor:resistors with a negative (NTC), or positive (PTC) resistance/temperature coefficient.
Bell Alarm:Switch with a circuit breaker actuated to closed condition in response to tripping of the circuit.
Horn Alarm: Switch with a circuit breaker actuated to closed condition in response to tripping of the circuit.
Thermocouple:Temperature sensor used to convert thermal potential difference into electrical.
Resistor Variable:Reduces the flow of elec current. Resistance track, end connections and a wiper which moves when the spindle turns.
Solenoid:A cylindrical spiral of conducting wire. Electric current creates turns = to a parallel circuits.
Transformer Air Core: Coils of wire wound on a form with no core.Transfers energy from by magnetic coupling.
Transformer Iron Core: Transfers energy at low frequencies with a core of low-reluctance magnetic material.
Voltmeter:A device used to measure the voltage drop.
Wattmeter: pair of fixed coils and a movable coil used to measure electrical power.
