| Substitiution | Solve one equation for one of the unknown. Substituting expressions for the variable on the second equation |
| Elimination | Chose one of the variables to elimanate, then subtract the two equations from each other. If there are no avaliable variables to eleminate, multiply to eleminate it. To find the other variable, plug it in to find the other variable. |
