| Tithe | a tax of one-tenth of the produce of one's land or amount in money, paid to support the church |
| Tory | today called Conservatives. A member of the Conservative Party in Great Britian is called this. |

| Upper Canada | was "up" the St. Lawrence River and is part of present-day Ontario |
