Chapter 5 - Irregular Verb Tenses
For each item below choose whether the verb is in the present, past, or past participle. Remember that the past participle ALWAYS requires a helper verb (e.g., has, have, had) and many of them--not all--end in an "n" and/or have changed a letter to "u." Learn them this way: Present tense: Today I ______ (begin). Past tense: Yesterday I ______ (began). Past participle: In the past I _____ (have begun). (Notice the "u" and "n" on this word.) Future tense: Tomorrow I _____ (will begin). Present participle: Today I _____ (am beginning).
