Welcome to the 8th grade Hillview School Drug Education Site
The ground rules for drug ed are:
1. No "I" statements, or stories about people you know. Definitely not other Hillview students. Please remember this is a small community and drug use can affect individuals and family members.
2. No glorifying drugs or drug use. Movies can often give a very distorted view of drugs and very often skip over the negative effects of drug use.
We will be covering the following drugs:
1. Marijuana
2. LSD (acid), PCP, and other hallucinogens
3. Cocaine
4. Heroin and other narcotics
5. Alcohol
6. Amphetamine (methamphetamine)
7. Ecstasy (XTC)
As part of the drug education we will learn about the central nervous system. Parts of the brain and nerve cells are covered. You will need to know the basic parts of the brain and parts of the neuron.
