CAPITOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM. Arizona was the state that had the honor of making ornaments for Christmas trees in our nation's capitol in 2009. St. Theresa participated in this program hoping that one of our students would be selected to attend the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, no one won this honor, but we had fun making ornaments anyways!

The ornaments made by the 1st – 6th graders for Capitol Christmas Tree 2009 (all 379 of them!) were dropped off at the County Extension office on Friday, October 2. The ornaments will be sorted then shipped to Washington, D.C. to be hung on the 75-foot tall outdoor tree and the indoor trees at the capitol building. The children did a fabulous job making the ornaments. For more information about the Capitol Christmas Tree 2009 program, go to http://capitolchristmastree2009.org/
