Note: Please remember that all assignments (including labs) are due at the beginning of class on the due date. Any work turned in after class has started will have a 5% deduction from the score (you may be asked to leave the room if we are discussing work that you have not completed on time). Any work turned more than 24 hours late will receive a 0% score. Tests, when announced in the class page, will be opened only for the time period specified.


Day One:

*Retrieve the combination units from the outdoor storage area and set up units in the laundry tech lab.

*Demonstration on unit operation and component access.

*Get the manufacture’s technical manual (see instructor for websites and passwords). Install and check operation following the technical manual's instruction to insure proper operation. If units are not operating properly see the instructor.

*After unit has been tested for proper operation, remove top and rear access panels to observe components. Using the technical manuals, correctly identify the components to the instructor.

Day 2 through 4:

*Go through each of the units, testing operations and using actual laundry loads (supplied by students), operate the units in the cycle appropriate for the fabric being laundered (check the laundering labels on the garments before placing clothes into machine).

*Have a combo unit "bugged" by the instructor to demonstrate diagnostic skills.

*Prepare for shop report on a combo unit chosen from available units.

*Practice diagnostic skills by having you unit bugged by the other students in the course (students are not to be endangered from this exercise and units are not to be damaged from this practice.

Day 5:

*Present shop reports.

*Review for test.

Day 6:

Final Test.

Finish up reports.

*Reassemble units and make sure they are in proper working order. Put them away in an orderly fashion in the outdoor storage cage.
