9/9   MIDTERMS GO HOME. Get signed for extra credit!! WS: Solving Equations.
9/10 Correct WS on Solving Equations. Begin WB Ch.1.9-1.12
9/11 Go over solving Formulas.
9/12 Finish WB Ch.1.9-1.12

9/15 Go over Vertical Line Test and Transformations.
9/16 Review transformations. Begin WB Ch.1.13-1.14






BROAD GOALS:

1.  To provide students with mathematical skills necessary to move on to higher-level mathematics courses required to obtain a college degree or geared toward a career in the technical field.
2.  Algebra, Functions, and “Data Analysis” is offered to students who have mastered the concepts of Algebra 1 and Geometry. Students study functions and their behaviors, systems of inequalities, probability, experimental design and implementation, and analysis of data. Data will be generated by practical applications arising from science, business, and finance. Students will solve problems that require the formulation of linear, quadratic, exponential, or logarithmic equations or a system of equations.
3.  To eliminate or reduce math anxiety by making math understandable and applicable to everyday life.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Please bring the following supplies on the first day of class:
1. 2 inch binder
2. Loose leaf notebook paper to last a semester/year
3. Dividers (5)
4. Pencils (no pens!!)
5. Colored pencils
6. Ruler
7. 150 page spiral notebook
8. Scientific Calculator for use at home (optional, but recommended)
