Qui suis-je:
Née à Ottawa, je déménage à Calgary à un jeune âge où je débute le piano au Mount Royal College Conservatory.  Revenue en Ontario, à Timmins, mon éducation musicale se poursuit selon les exigences du  Conservatoire de musique de Toronto.  Je voyage régulièrement à Toronto pour étudier avec la pianiste Francine Kay tout en continuant mes études en flûte traversière à Timmins avec Audrey Jean Wells. En 1991 j’obtiens la médaille d’argent du Conservatoire pour avoir obtenu la note la plus haute dans un examen de flûte. À dix-huit ans, je complète deux diplômes d’Associée au Conservatoire Royal de musique de Toronto, (A.R.C.T.) en piano et flûte.  Pendant les années fructueuses de mon adolescence, je gagne deux Rose Bowl  ainsi que les plaques d’excellence en piano au festival de musique du Porcupine, je suis membre de l’orchestre symphonique de Timmins pendant mes quatre années d’études secondaires, jouant de la flûte et du piccolo et j’interprète le Concerto de Grieg au piano, avec l’orchestre sous la direction de Geoffrey James Lee.  À l’été 1997, je fais partie du Chamber Music Institute à Levenworth, dans l’état de Washinton aux États-Unis interprétant le quatuor pour piano et cordes en sol mineur de Mozart ainsi que le quintette pour piano et cordes de Schumann.

En 2001, je complète un baccalauréat en musique, en interprétation, à l’Université d’Ottawa avec un majeur en piano et en flûte traversière graduant avec summa cum laude.  Mon professeur Andrew Tunis m’encourage à participer au festival du Kiwanis où je remporte le trophée dans la classe concerto interprétant un concerto de Chopin.  En 2003, je complète ma maîtrise en musique, en interprétation, à l’Université d’Ottawa.  C’est à ce moment que je décide que l’enseignement du piano est véritablement la carrière que je désire poursuivre.   En 2003-2004, puisque je suis encore dans le moule des études, je décide de compléter mon baccalauréat en éducation, même si mon but n’est pas d’enseigner dans une salle de classe, mais de poursuivre un rêve que je nourris depuis mon enfance, enseigner le piano.

Ma carrière d’enseignante de piano débute à l’âge de dix-huit ans, en 1996, à Timmins et se poursuit tout au long de mes études universitaires. 

Après mes études , je deviens membre de l’association professionnelle des professeurs enregistrés de musique de l’Ontario (O.R.M.T.A.), poursuis ma carrière d’enseignante de piano à Ottawa et crée mon site web.



ABOUT ME
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, she moved to Calgary at a young age and began her musical studies at Mount Royal College Conservatory.  She later moved to Timmins where she performed in the Porcupine Music Festival being a two-time winner of the Rose Bowl and the piano plaques.
     She made her first orchestral debut with the Timmins Symphony Orchestra with the performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto under the direction of  Geoffrey James Lee.  She had been a member of the TSO during four years, playing flute and piccolo in all the season's concerts.  She also won numerous scholarships in the annual TSO Scholarship Auditions.
     At the time, she traveled regularly to Toronto from her hometown to study piano with pianist Francine Kay, a faculty member at the Royal Conservatory of Music.  She also studied flute under the supervision of Audrey Jean Wells winning a silver medal for having obtained the highest mark in the province of Ontario for a flute examination.  By age eighteen, she held two A.R.C.T.  performer's diploma in piano and flute as well as earning the Governor General Medal for her academic studies.
     Ms Martin-Soucie has performed recitals in her hometown giving away the proceeds to the local church for charity needs.
     In the summer of 1997, she was part of the Chamber Music Institute in Levenworth, Washington, where she performed the Mozart Piano Quartet in g minor and the Schumann Piano Quintet.
     Ms Martin-Soucie completed a Bachelor of Music in piano and flute at Ottawa University in 2001 where she graduated with summa cum laude.  She studied piano under Andrew Tunis, fortepiano under Cynthia Floyd and flute under Jean-Guy Brault.  She was a finalist in 1998 and 1999 in the Concerto Competition of the music department.  Other achievements include performances in the Ottawa Kiwanis Music Festival where she was the winner of various prizes and scholarships including a trophy for the Concerto Competition in 1999.
     In 2001, she was awarded the Ontario Grant Scholarship to pursue her studies and in 2003, graduated with a Master's in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa.
     In 2004, she completed a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Ottawa.
