Friday, March 20th: 1:20 pm We have JUST received very important information regarding this year's AP test. I am sure you all have been wondering if there will be an AP test or not this year. The AP College Board has just announced that there WILL be, but that it will be done online from your home. Also, beginning mid-next week, the AP College Board will be offering online lessons to finish out this year's instruction and train you for this online version of the test. I will be adding these to our website on about a one day delay and switching to their format, along with some simple comprehension checks to go with them for grades. I promise to make it as manageable and reasonable for you as possible, and continue to be respectful of your time and responsibilities while making sure that we implement these very important resources to help you prepare for the AP test. Do not be overwhelmed. I will help you digest this. I want you to remember that you have received specific training and practice for EVERY PORTION of the AP test already. The review videos that the AP College Board provides us will continue to fine tune and develop. Don't be intimidated! It's going to be FINE. They are going to simplify the test and process. They're not done doing that yet. As of now, many questions still remain, and we will have to wait until early April for some answers. We will start using their online lessons as a resource (they post them to youtube and I will link them to you) with my comprehension checks as grades. At least that is my plan for now...again, all of this is still in the works and their videos are not even available until mid-next week. We will be a on a one day delay so that I can create comprehension checks to go with their videos. I also want an opportunity to look at what they're offering and I may choose to divide it up into multi-day segments depending on what it looks like. Again, still many questions to be answered for all of us. So the take-away: Yes, you're still able to take the AP Spanish test this year online from home. You can get a 100% refund if you've changed your mind. (I don't advise that! I think you will be fine!) We will begin using the AP College Board's provided review videos for AP test prep as soon as they become available (mid-next week...I will post the links and make comprehension checks to go with them, in addition to my own materials when applicable.) Please read the link below under useful links titled " Information for AP Students Affected by Coronavirus" Relax. Take a deep breath. It's going to be fine. Don't let this overwhelm you; they're still figuring it out. This year's exam will be simplified 45 minute exam at home. That might actually be good news. The original test is a marathon. This will be different. I will continue to post updates as I (and they) know more. It's going to be okay. You go out in the warm sunshine this afternoon and take some deep breaths...ten feet away from anyone else. Yo te quiero y te extraño mucho. -Sra. Theis
