Spanish Club Trip Rules- Must Read Prior to All Trips Attending a class trip outside of school is a privilege. Remember that you are representing your family, your community, your organization, and your school when we are out at an event. When you sign up to attend a Spanish Club trip, you agree to behave in a mature, respectful, and responsible manner that makes us all proud and keeps all members safe. -All forms/money must be correctly completed and turned in far before the date of the event. If all of your forms have not been completed correctly and turned in on time, you will not be permitted to attend the event with Club or ride the bus. -Be ON TIME for the bus and ON TIME for predetermined meeting points. If you are making a purchase or getting in line for an attraction, do so only if you can complete the task and still make the meeting point ON TIME. If you need to visit the restroom before we leave, plan accordingly with plenty of time before the departure time. Again, you need to be at the meeting point ON TIME! -Stay with your group at all times. No splitting off from your group. If you need to use the restroom, go with other group members from our club. Don't go anywhere alone. -Error on the side of being overly cautious. What matters most is everyone's SAFETY. -Be courteous, helpful, and respectful with chaperones and staff at the event, as well as with other attendees not with our group. -Behave in a MATURE AND SAFE manner at all times. Display A POSITIVE ATTITUDE! If you cannot do this, you need to stay home. -School rules apply on all trips. This includes appropriate dress code. Consequences for choosing not to respect rules are the same as they would be if inappropriate behavior was chosen at school. -Speaking of dress code, make sure you dress for the weather and activity. For example, if we are going horseback riding and it is a cool fall morning, you must wear a coat and close-toed shoes or boots. NO flip flops or sandals. -Bus rules apply. Eating/Drinking is not permitted on the bus. Keep the bus clean and free of any trash. Take your belongings with you when you leave and put up windows. Keep the bus aisles clear at all times so that the driver can see. Silent at railway crossings. -If you come on a trip as a Spanish Club Member, you will need to ride the bus to and from the event with the club. This way the advisor can keep her attention better focused on the safety and whereabouts of EVERYONE in the group. If your parent comes as a chaperone, he/she is welcome to ride the bus with us or drive behind the bus in his/her own car, but any student attending as a club member with Spanish Club must ride the bus. This is to eliminate confusion and thus any possibility of mix-ups with transportation to and from the event. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. -Bring a cell phone along if at all possible. Return times to high school are approximate. At about twenty minutes from reaching the high school, we will announce that it is time to call your ride. If you don't have a cell phone with you, either use a friend's or the advisor's. You'll want a cell phone with you for taking pictures anyway. -Sometimes there are souvenir items available for purchase on our trips. This is totally optional, but if you think you would be interested, you may want to bring along some spending money just in case. Again, do NOT get in a line to buy something if it is going to make you late for the meeting time!!! If you are in line and the meeting time comes, get out of line and get to the meeting point. -If you have a severe allergy that requires immediate emergency treatment medication should you happen to come into contact with the item (insects, food, pollen, etc.) you are responsible for bringing along that necessary treatment item and keeping it with you throughout the event, or giving it to the chaperone / advisor you are with to keep it on hand for you. You are responsible for alerting the chaperone/ advisor should you need help or come into contact with something that usually causes a severe problem for you. -When in doubt, don't just do it...ASK! Our trips are possible because of the mature and responsible behavior of our members! Keep it up!
