Volaré

¨Volaré¨ por Gipsy Kings (un grupo musical español que canta del estilo flamenco) was published on their album Mosaïque. This song was inspired off of the original version of Volare, which was published by Dean Martin and sung in Italian. Gipsy Kings took the lyrics and decided to sing them in Spanish, excluding the chorus, which they left in the original language of Italian.

This song expresses extreme blissfulness and happiness that is practically unbelievable. Feeling like one is flying through the clear, blue sky, absorbing it’s pureness and becoming part of it.

Behold the lyrics.  Look for the FUTURE tense repeated over and over...
¡Volaré!:  I WILL fly     ¡Cantaré!:  I WILL sing.

The link to the audio of the song is below under ¨Useful links¨.  It repeats the future tense ¨I WILL fly!  and   I WILL sing!¨ over and over.  This is the kind of stuff that makes you internalize a structure!  Listen to the song, repeatedly, try to sing along...yes, some parts are in Italian as explained above.  Gypsy Kings are a musical group from Spain that sing and play music in the gypsy FLAMENCO fashion of Spain!

This will not only help you internalize yo form future tense, but it is impossible to listen to this song and not feel at least a little happy :-)  It makes me want to cook spaghetti with lots of oregano and speak Spanish all at the same time while flamenco dancing!

After you have read the following lyrics and translation and listened to the song (put it up in another window while you follow along with THESE lyrics below)  I want you to listen to the Gypsy Kings' rendition of the Disney song ¨Hay Un Amigo En Mí¨ from Toy Story III (also under useful links)  so that you get an idea of what Flamenco style singing and Flamenco guitar sounds like, then visit the other linked clips on Flamenco...
By the time you are finished, I want you to have internalized future tense yo form, know about the Gypsy Kings music group, and be able to recognize Flamenco style of dance, guitar, music, singing, and know that this is a traditional style from SPAIN, originating with the gitanos...the gypsies...of Spain.  Got all that?  Sure you do!  Don´t skip, this will be fun.

(I think that something that seems like a dream will not return anymore.)
(And it used to paint my hands and face blue)
(And all fo the sudden the swift wind carried me away)
(And made me fly in the infinite sky)

[Chorus]
Volaré oh oh   (I WILL fly...oh oh)
Cantaré oh oh oh oh   (I WILL sing...oh oh oh oh)

[Verse 2]
Y volando, volando feliz   (And flying, flying happily)
(I find myself higher, higher than the sun)
(While the world distances itself slowly from me)
Una música dulce tocada sólo para mí
(A sweet music played only for me)

[Chorus]
Volaré oh oh   (I WILL fly...oh oh)
Cantaré oh oh oh oh  (I WILL sing...oh oh oh oh...)
Nel blu dipinto di blu  (italiano...italiano...more stuff en italiano)
Felice di stare lassu

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]
Volaré oh oh
Cantaré oh oh oh oh
Nel blu dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassu

[Outro]
Nel blu dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassu
Nel blu dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassu
Nel blu dipinto di blu
