CHOLET UPDATE - June 11, 2011 - "A few last-minute things"

I want to give you a few notes and last minute reminders. Some of these are items we've mentioned at past meetings. Some have come from recent questions. If any of you think of something worth adding (whether you've been a part of this exchange in the past, you have international travel experience, or it's just something you've heard), let me know and I'll add it to the list. These are in no particular order.
Ariane I've been in touch with Ariane, our EF Tour Director, through e-mail, text messages and one phone call. Seems like a nice person and you'll enjoy traveling with her.
Luggage - You pack it, you carry it! You are permitted to bring one suitcase, one carry-on and one personal item. Even though the airline permits you to bring more than one suitcase, keep in mind that during the EF portion of the trip, we will be on a bus with 32 other students (Ariane filled me in: 16 from Herndon, VA, 9 from Birdsboro, PA, and 7 from Tampa, FL.), so we'll need the space on the bus.

Do not wrap your gifts. They will probably end up being unwrapped as they pass through security. Pack the gift and wrapping paper (or gift bag), then wrap it up in France.
Don't forget the "3-1-1" rule regarding liquids in your carry-on luggage. If you have any liquid containers that hold more than 3 fluid ounces, pack it in your suitcase or you will be asked to throw it away before entering the secured area.
Departure: On Monday, the bus will leave the FHS north parking lot at 11 am. Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to allow time to load luggage, say goodbye, take pictures, etc. I will also ask to see everyone's passport before we leave. A forgotten passport is NOT the kind of discovery we'll want to make in Cleveland
Tracking Flight Status If family members back home are interested in keeping up with our flights, you can go the American Airlines website and simply enter the flight numbers (Cleveland - Chicago #4185; Chicago - Paris #42; Paris - JFK #45; JFK - Cleveland #4172).
