READ CHAPTERS 1-2
The prologue tells a lot about Job. We learn about his characteristics, his faith, his fortune, and his family.

Job was the richest man in his area, but that did not prevent him from suffering much loss. In fact, he lost everything he had, including his ten children.

In just one day, Job experience four tragedies.
1.  All his oxen and donkeys were stolen and his farmhands killed.
2.  Fire fell from heaven and burned up his sheep and shepherds.
3.  All his camels were carried and servants killed
4.  A mighty wind blew down the house where his sons and daughters were and killed all of them.

During the same day, Job is afflicted with painful boils from head to toe.

REASON FOR JOB'S TROUBLES
Notice that Job lost all those things because of no fault of his own. We are privileged to the conversation between Satan and God. Therefore, we know why Job suffered. However, Job did not know why and neither did his three friends we tried to get Job say he had sinned.

READ the conversation Satan and God had concerning Job to see why Job was tested (1:5-12; 2:1-6).

READ Job's reactions to his trials as well as his wife's remark.

See who Job's three friends are.

What things did the three friends do when they first saw Job in his condition?

Why do you think the friends sat with Job for an entire week without saying a word?
