Verb Tense 5th Grade
The tense of a verb indicates the time the action of the sentence takes place. Present tense indicates action or being that is happening now. Past tense indicates action or being that was completed in the past. Future tense indicates action or being that will take place in the future. The auxiliary verb will is usually used with the principle verb to form the future tense. Present: Joseph plants corn. Past: Joseph planted corn. Future: Joseph will plant corn
