When answering the question "Wohin," use these prepositions:
an = bodies of water
nach = countries without articles (Deutschland, Italien, etc>
in = geographical locations (mountain ranges, parks, forests, museums)
auf = up a particular mountain
These prepositions get the AKKUSATIV case because there is motion toward a place.
